Outside In

Here is a refreshing tip for vitality that involves not inner work, but outside actions!  Surround yourself with joyful relationships that bring out the best in you.  Spend more time with friends and acquaintances who are uplifting and positive.  Hang out with people who inspire you and reflect qualities you most admire.

Step into Flow

What inspires you?  What brings you joy and delight?  What energizes you physically?  Whatever it is, bring more of these into your life!

When you are inspired, vitality comes naturally.  You step into flow with passion and ease.  It is an invigorating and energizing process, like putting your life on a super-powered battery charger.  Your life gets a boost of energy that naturally fuels wellness.

Catch and Release!

Vitality can be simply defined as life energy.  We were all born with this and it came very naturally to us as children.  We played and explored the world in ways that brought continued wonder, joy and enthusiasm in life.  As adults, many of us have lost touch with this due to the demands of everyday living but rest assured, vitality may be brought back anytime we choose!

When energy flows freely through us, we are strong and engaged in life.  Conversely when energy is stuck, we are not operating at full capacity and limit our potential in life.  In order to keep energy flowing, we must bring awareness to the sources that drain us and one of the biggest is suppressed emotions.

Emotions are energy and a natural part of the human experience.  They are neither good or bad.  In fact, emotions are essential since they help us to cope with life.  The trick is to catch and release emotions like fish!  Whenever you feel an emotion rising within, take time to acknowledge it and then LET IT GO!.  If you ignore or suppress the emotion, it will linger in the form of stuck energy.  To maintain a clear flow of energy, you may consciously say to yourself in the moment “I feel really annoyed.” or “I feel so sad” and then release it in a healthy way.  A good choice would be to connect with nature.  Here you could dispel emotional energy and refuel yourself with the beauty of your surroundings.

Renewal

As we approach the middle of Winter, the days are getting longer with increasing daylight, buds are erupting through the ground and on trees, and songbirds are returning to fill the air with sweet sounds of nature.  This is a time of rebirth and renewal.

We can synchronize ourselves to the cycles of nature if we embrace our own personal  transformation in the moment.  Bring awareness to subtle changes in the environment around you.  The finer details can be easily missed as we go about our daily activities.

This is also true with our own personal transformation.  There may be a subtle shift in your pattern of behaviours or thought processes you are not aware of.  Perhaps you sense a heaviness has lifted or you are feeling much lighter and freer.  Celebrate any changes you notice!

Positive Transformation tip #6

The final tip for positive transformation involves acceptance.  Accept the fact there will be some form of loss.  This is inevitable.  In order to make room for something new, we must release something from our past.

Loss may involve relationships, routines, or beliefs that were a part of your life.  Perhaps there is a relationship that no longer serves you well or a habit of daily living that is not aligned with your current values.  Perhaps loss involves dreams, ideals and expectations that keep you locked in pain.  There is a sadness that comes with growing even though growth feels good.  It is important to acknowledge the past for the lessons they provided.  After all, each and every experience is a stepping stone to positive transformation!

Positive Transformation tip #5

Let go of old habits that no longer serve you well.  Ask yourself “What am I holding onto from the past?  What patterns of thinking do I have that keep me locked in doubt, worry and fear?  Which behaviours of mine limit my capacity to succeed?”  Bring awareness to old habits that impede growth and positive transformation.

For example, you may realize that you no longer need to visit the local coffee shop everyday to buy yourself a treat, or visit the mall regularly to check out what’s on sale.  Perhaps it dawns on you that old ingrained beliefs of scarcity no longer apply.  Whatever it is, let go of old limiting habits and simply allow space for solitude and reflection.  It is in these moments where change happens and valuable insights arise to keep you on the path of positive transformation!

Positive Transformation tip #4

Maintain positive energy!  This is a key piece behind positive transformation.  Words have energy, thoughts have energy, and of course actions have energy!  Keep your energy fresh and clear like spring water flowing through a  meadow.

The laws of attraction reveal like attracts like.  This is karma.  What you exude is reflected back to you in the world.  Maintain a good posture, hold your head up high, and wear a smile on your face.  Be mindful of your inner dialogue and let negative thoughts and moods move through you without attachment.  Prioritize self care during this time of change and just as a caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly, you too will naturally transform!

Positive Transformation tip #3

Visualize your success.  Use your imagination and all of your senses to envision your transformation.  Allow yourself to really feel what it is like to succeed.  Perhaps you will experience a tingling sensation in your body or a sense of vitality and all is well.  You may see yourself engaged in conversations, sharing your excitement with loved ones.  Those words may flow effortlessly from you as you feel a surge of positive energy within.  Your smile arises naturally and you experience a feeling of lightness as you go about your day.  Embrace the power of positive visualization!
